About
Ahmed Kharim, architect
I graduated as an architect in 1985 from La Cambre school of architecture in Brussels, then began my career at the planning department of the province of Chefchaouen. I opened my practice in Tetouan in 1988 and moved it to Agadir in 1989.
Since then, with my team, I have designed and delivered hotels, resorts and holiday clubs for the major tourism operators in Morocco, always in co-design with chosen partners. Since 2017, I have also passed on this experience by leading a design studio at the National School of Architecture in Agadir.

Philosophy
- 01
The spirit of place
Every project starts from its place: light, climate, slope and view. At Smir the rooms step down the hill; at Taghazout the hotel opens onto the ocean.
- 02
Moroccan identity, reinterpreted
Arches, mashrabiya, patios, tinted renders: we draw on the Moroccan vocabulary without ever copying it, for places that are both rooted and contemporary.
- 03
Hospitality as a programme
A hotel is a small town: flows, services, privacy and welcome. We design for the guests who stay there as much as for the teams who run it.
- 04
The hand-drawn line
The first intentions are born in pencil. Drawing by hand remains our way of thinking, before it is translated into construction drawings.
